When Nehemiah heard about the broken walls and burned gates of Jerusalem, he broke his heart before God in fasting and prayer. But he desired from the bottom of his heart that God should restore the walls and gates of Jerusalem.
So much so God turned the attention of the King's heart to his cupbearer's sad countenance. The king not only permitted Nehemiah to go to Judah but also gave letters to the governors on the way to help Nehemiah with timber and safe journey. upon Nehemiah's request. Nehemiah's aspiration became his possibilities. He grabbed every possibility to help him to restore walls and gates of Jerusalem. According to the need of the hour let us also be aspiring to build the walls of lives of children and people around us. Our aspirations are our possibilities. We should aspire to reach out to desired destination by being skilful in everything that we do. We should empower ourselves on all levels, perfecting, refining, awakening and expanding. God did not leave us alone to ourselves but gave us His Holy Spirit who is with us and within us to empower us. Let us desire HIM.

It's time to praise God for His great helping hand through out the five weeks of this summer. We had about 22 teachers, & co-teachers committed in reaching 600 children in 8 different places of A P and Nacharam too. Please pray that all 600 children will continue meditating the Word they learned in the VBS.
We thank you very much for your prayers. We thank all those who have contributed financially for the success of the VBS 2009.

Dearly Beloved Friends and Saints of God,

Time is flying-really flying. We entered third month in this year already ummh!
We at Shining Stars thank you all for holding our hands in our hope to see children becoming Jesus' disciples. In Hebrews 11:1 it is written ' Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (KJV). Then what is Hope? Hope is, Faith holding out its hand in the dark. We have one creation of God which is very small in size. The Glow-Worm. The Glow-worm has the ability to conquer the darkness in spite of its small size. It emphasizes that most of the significant events in world have been achieved by people, who remained optimistic when there seemed to be no hope at all. The hall of faith Hebrews 11 speaks about many of our forefathers who were optimistic in spite of the situations and earned a place in the great book The Bible and eternity. That means they are tested and found true.
One similar situation in the Bible is recorded in Daniel 3:18. Let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up. Here Daniel's three friends faced a different kind of test, but they too would not budge. They knew their refusal to worship the image might result in their death, yet they never wavered. They proved they were true to God by standing firm. And it requires courage. Courage to stand firm for what is right.

Today through Shining Stars many children are growing to know the Lord and are beginning to follow Him with their own understanding. We are sure there will be a time coming where they have to be tested and found true. The challenge may come as an opportunity to gratify the lusts of the flesh, or as a series of disheartening circumstances. Whatever form it takes, they/we must not yield. Rather, they/we must stand for what is right and trust God to supply the grace they/we need (1 Corinthians 10:13). At the outset many children in the last 13 years became young adults. Some of these are girls, who are now facing challenge of marriage.
Because their parents don't mind their children associated with Shining Stars but demand their children get married to the grooms who are from their own caste and religion. May be couple of years from now they must make a choice to stand for what is right.
Standing for what is right is a battle too. The battle is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. As the great bird of vision, power, wisdom & light, the eagle teaches us to show courage in whatever we do without the fear of failures. It teaches us to soar high without losing the sight of the ground.

Let us uphold these young adults and children in our fervent prayers that they will be able to grow strong in the grace of the Lord and stand firm for what is right not only in one but in all circumstances.

V.B.S 2009 Be a part of it!

It's VBS time again! We are in the process of planning for our summer program. We can't forget but thank God and you for the successful completion of VBS 2008 last summer. With the help of God and your support we were able to run 23 programs and serve 1861 children, 208 children were newly accepted Jesus.
This year we have requests to help with about 10 programs and we hope to attempt more (this year we are planning to use more of our own youth, who are being nurtured in Shining Stars). We plan to start our first program on April 24th and finish our last one 22nd May. We hope that about 35 staff/teachers and volunteers will be helping us out, and that we will touch about 1500 children's lives with the love of Christ. This is our key time of building leadership skills into our young staff and volunteers who are growing up with us . . . please pray for us!

Our budget for this year is around Rs. 35,000.00 . . . $ 700.00. Please let us know if you would like to be involved in any way, if so, it would be greatly appreciated.

Secondly Shining Stars completed its 13th Anniversary this month. We thank God and all of you for your loving support and prayers. We are sure you too will agree with our wish that it/s time Shining Stars should have its own premises. We are waiting for the estimation which will be shared with you shortly. Kindly pray.

Dear Friends,

It is said 'Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm'. It seems a Butterfly keeps flying from one flower to another in search of nectar without losing enthusiasm. How awesome is our God and how much He loves us He kept everything there for us to hear; see; watch and learn to become better everyday.

Yes enthusiasm is the only driving force that drives people to perform at their best and allows them to achieve the worthiest of causes. And children are the best example. They show so much of enthusiasm to learn new things by questioning mostly. And some times or most of the times we elders simply snub them by common phrase 'you don't know' or 'keep quiet' or 'don't disturb' or 'I am busy'.

This brings me to share what D.L. Moody said-In the past after one of his meetings, he told the host that, that day 3 and Half people came to the Lord. By default the hosting Pastor said it could be 3 elders and 1 child. But according to D L Moody it was the other way-3 children and 1 adult because for an adult already half the life is over. It is the children who have to grow further. It is the children today that become the CHURCH tomorrow.

Enthusiasm is what we tend to loose because of the challenges, trails we face everyday. Today I thank God for reminding me and us to look at His creation the beautiful enthusiastic Butterfly For Jesus surely had so much of enthusiasm in spite of so much adversity within and out but continued to the cross to fulfill the divine purpose to give us the authority to become His children. Therefore let us continue to pursue the purpose of God in our lives with utmost enthusiasm and also 'discipling children'.

We at Shining Stars thank you for praying and supporting us to continue enthusiastically to disciple these children 'The Future Church'. ...

The sincere Christian parent sometimes wonders because he knows salvation is real and he is concerned lest his child substitute youthful enthusiasm for genuine conviction and commitment. TEENS FELLOWSHIP

As some of you are aware, Shining Stars Teen Fellowship (SSTF) was started and led by one of our staff in the year 2001. More than 30 Teens gather every Saturday to worship and to be discipled. They are now grown up and some of them are continuing the higher studies and some are working, most of them are Still connected to SS. This year they are planning for outreach ministry. Once in a month they are planning to involve in activities like street programmes, church gathering (Sunday or any other meetings), Youth programmes, children programmes (one day camp/retreat) & assemblies at Schools etc. This team wishes to glorify God by distributing tracts, teaching (songs, bible stories etc.) Puppet shows, choreographies, leading worship, skits and dramas etc.

If any of you are interested to use this team and further details, please call at SS in advance and let us know.

Please pray that God will use this team for his glory. Please pray for their security and the leading of Holy Spirit through out their upcoming programmes and the needs like music instruments, puppets, gospel tracts, sound system etc.

Explanation by an eight year old!

THIS ONE IS FABULOUS!!!

It was written by an 8-year-old named Danny Dutton, who lives in Chula Vista, CA. He wrote it for his third grade homework assignment, to "explain God." I wonder if any of us could have done as well.

EXPLANATION OF GOD:
One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grownups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn't have to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers." God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God does not have time t o listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off." God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have. “Atheists are people who don't believe in God; I don’t think there are any in Chula Vista. At least there are not any who come to our church. “Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K. "His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important. "You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time." You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God!
Do not skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway."If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're scared, in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids." But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases. And...That’s why I believe in God."








The Gospel
God had an immediate plan for redemption, which was revealed when He cursed the devil right after the fall. “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel” (Gen. 3:15). God said there would be a struggle between satanic forces and humanity. The offspring of the woman would begin with Cain and his natural descendants. Out of this offspring would come the Christ. Satan would cripple mankind (strike his heal), but Christ would deliver the fatal blow (crush Satan’s head). The offspring of the serpent would include his demons, and anyone who serves in the kingdom of darkness, those whose spiritual “father” is the devil (John 8:44).
In preparation for the coming of Christ, God established a conditional covenant (Exodus 19), which served as the basis for the Mosaic Law. The law was moral, ceremonial and civil and provided for a temporal means by which the fallen inhabitants of this world could relate to God and each other. However, the law was powerless to give life and therefore righteousness could not be based on the law (Gal. 3:21). See Breaking The Bondage of Legalism (Harvest House, 2003). The law was a tutor that would eventually lead us to Christ who is the only name given under heaven by which we can be saved (Gal. 3:24; Acts 4:12). Ezekiel prophesied what God was going to do in order to save his fallen people (Ezekiel 11:19,20):
I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
The gospel provides far more than the forgiveness of sins. Paul wrote, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 6:23). Jesus had to die on the cross in order for us to be forgiven, because, “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Heb. 9:22). But the cross represents only half the gospel. Because of Christ’s resurrection we have new life in Christ. Jesus came to give us life and put a new heart and a new spirit within us. When we are born-again spiritually, our soul/spirit is in union with God as it was for Adam in the original creation. This wonderful truth is most often conveyed in Scripture with the prepositional phrase, “In Christ,” or “In Him.”. After commissioning Timothy, Paul wrote, “He will remind you of my ways which are in Christ Jesus, just as I teach everywhere in every church” (1 Corinthians 4:17 emphasis added, NASB).
What Adam and Eve lost in the fall was life (spiritual life). What Jesus came to give us was life (John. 10:10). Eternal life is not something we get when we physically die. John writes, “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12). If you don’t have eternal (spiritual) life before you physically die, all you would have to look forward to is hell. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even when he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die” (John 11:25,26). In other words, every born-again believer is spiritually alive and will continue to be so when they die physically. Jesus is the “Bread of life” (John 6:35), “The way the truth and the life” (John 14:6), and every Christian has their name written in the “Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 13:8, emphasis added). Dear Saints and Servants of God

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord for all blessings comes from Him. We are happy to share with you that God in His grace has enabled us to complete the goals set from July-September 2008 successfully and within the budget. Thank you all for your support and prayers.

We are happy to share with you that the recent concluded Kids camp blessed 78 children from different villages. The theme for this year was 'RACE' - Reaching At the Cross for Eternity'. Subjects derived from the word D I S C I P L E were taught for three days beginning from 1st October to 3rd October 2008. The children received the teaching very well and have committed to pursue the decisions they have taken. Not forgetting to thank God for being with some of the children as they had fever and cold. Over all the children enjoyed not only the teaching but also the fun day where in they each one painted, colored their faces with the available things like lipstick, eyeliners and simple face powders. They were very creative and amazing. They all enjoyed the sports and especially the ministry of helps. Praise the Lord for children.

What I have observed is their obedience and involvement in the task given to them, whether it is listening or writing or serving or fun or even witnessing. ' Witnessing' - This reminds me of the little girl taken away captive from Jerusalem to Syria. Who did not hesitate to tell about the prophet by whose prayer her master could be healed of the dreadful disease. Her initiative shows her involvement to testify God's wonder working power through His servants. I think the little girl took the SHAMEGO stand for God against her own life. She was brought as captive with no assurance of going back to her home town. Praise God for Children. The SHAMEGO stand for God. The stand what Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego took for God. There are three things we can observe. Going, Standing and Talking. They went to the place (location/World) where they were called obeying the King's order to assemble. But they stood for God not bowing down to the (not compromising) to the idol (influencing factors of the world) but they did not keep quite they spoke saying that even if they have to die they would not bow down to the idol. Meaning they would not do anything that displeases God (Witnessing).

Hope you would join me to thank God for these children who are valuable not only to remind us our God's work but for our encouragement too.

Kid of the Month

Hi, I am Kavitha, studying my degree final year and I want share how God Iworking in My life.

I am helping in developing 9th & 10 class children in Nacharam centre. My parents always oppose me to pray, read the bible and go to any Christian activity. Recently I asked my parents permission to go for Shining Stars Discipleship camp, but they said I should not only go to the camp but also to discontinue going to the tuition centre. I was shocked to here this because I am not going to church, this is the only place where I can get spiritual nourishment. I came to SS office and explained my problem and there the staff encouraged me and said don't force your parents, but if God really want to go to camp he will change your parents, your job is to pray to Jesus also quoted Phil. 4:6&7, and we all prayed for the situation. While we all the family are having dinner my mother asked my father "shall we let Kavitha go to camp?" then my father said 'yes she can'. I praise God in my heart and tears came out of my eyes. I can not explain how I felt at that moment, but I can say my God is so great. I really enjoyed the camp.

Please pray for me to be faithful as I am facing this kind of hindrances in my life.

Prayer & Praise points

Praise God for:The blessed time with 12 teens during our Teens camp during 15th to 17th August 2008.

New centres leaders training programme in July, where 9 leaders from different churches attended.

God's provision for Discipleship camp held during 1st - 3rd Oct'08.

Please Pray for:

The children who attended the Discipleship camp will pursue the decisions that they have taken in the camp to have right relationship with God, family and friends.

The on going programmes and discipleship in all centres.

The upcoming programmes 5 days Sunday School teachers workshop at Vizag and Christmas programmes etc.

God's provision for continual programmes.

Needs:

- A digital camera to use in the ministry.

- Curtains for the doors and windows

- Wall Painting for the office

- Christmas Bonus for the staff

RACE

Dear Friends and Co-Workers in Christ,

It is a refreshing time again for kids!Another year passed, as usual, and now we are here to conduct another kid's camp for all the children from different centers working in partnership with Shining Stars.We are planning to have a camp this academic year for our Shining Stars kids from the 1st - 3rd October 2008. This year we are having camp at a beautiful green school campus just outside of the city limits.Our theme for this year is "RACE"! (Reaching at the Cross for Eternity). We have subjects like "Disciple", "I", "Stewardship", "Christian Discipline", etc. and have invited some gifted speakers (including our own staff) to teach.Please pray for us! Pray that God will fill us with His Spirit, energy, wisdom and that it will just be a great time of connecting with the kids in the Spirit . . . that they will go away full of vigor to live for Him and run their "RACE" for God! We hope that about 100 will be there, including staff, and have estimated the total costs of the camp to be about Rs. 25000.00 ($570.00) which will come to Rs. 250.00 ($ 6.00) per person. We have asked the children to pay about ($ 3.00) If any of you would like to contribute in order to sponsor the remaining amount of $ 3.00 for some children it would be greatly appreciated. Just respond to this email and we will let you know how to send it.
